Portrait shoot in the Atacama Desert, Chile

24/11/11

We had an amazing time in the Atacama Desert, Chile, known to be the driest desert in the world.  The landscapes, rock formations and salt lakes that you can find in this desert are just amazing (travel pictures still to come) and so we asked a local girl, typical looking from Northern Chile with her dark hair and eyes, if she wouldn’t mind posing for us as we did a shoot in the desert. I wanted to take the pictures in front of the Licancabur volcano that can be seen from most locations around San Pedro de Atacama and served as a spectacular background for this shoot, along with the lone tree.

  1. Beautiful! I loved my time in San Pedro and the Atacama desert. I traveled from Arica towards Santiago and stopped at many places to just soak in the beauty of the landscape. My chilean friends told me I would love the South, but I loved the North, especially because it was so different from home. The South looks like the Black Forrest ;-)

I loved the North for the uniqueness, for the colors, for the people and for the llamas!

    Awesome shooting!

  2. Claire

Thanks Anne :) Loved the Llamas too! We still must do the South.
