Caroline and Andrew are a couple from Australia who have been living in London for the past 7 years. Caroline is half Chinese, half Austrian and Andrew is half Hungarian, half Australian. Caroline was living in Vienna when they got together and one Christmas in Ischgl, and decided to get engaged. Aside from many travels, they have made many great trips to Austria, particularly skiing to the Alps during their time in Europe, which is why they selected Zell am See for their wedding location. Beautiful landscapes, and a serene lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains provided the perfect backdrop for their perfect wedding. The couple love to travel and also go out and party with their friends, and wanted their wedding to reflect this – a really fun atmosphere where everyone has a good laugh.
Caroline booked me well in advance so we had plenty of contact via email ahead of time and I really felt part of her wedding planning progress, like sharing mood boards and ideas. We became friends even though we did not actually meet until their wedding day.
Their civil ceremony was held on the Friday before the wedding and they chose a typical Austrian theme where all guests dressed in tracht. This was followed by a BBQ and drinks in the evening where I was openly welcomed.
Their wedding day was everything they imagined. A gorgeous warm and sunny day greeted us and a heartwarming ceremony was followed by a horse and carriage ride. Austrian traditions flowed throughout the day and since many of the guests were Londoners, the evening was certainly a PARTY!
The following day everyone met up at the top of Kitzsteinhorn where we had a quick after-wedding shoot followed by lunch in a mountain hut.
Special thanks to Caroline for a lovely working relationship leading up to the day which has continued to this day. I hope we shall meet again in the future. Also thanks to bridesmaid Romy for being so sweet and kind, I know Caroline could not have planned this day with you!
