Svetlana had her shoes beaded to match her wedding dress by Mori Lee

Russian tradition: Groom must buy the bride

… while Svetlana quietly gets ready with her mother ….

All the guests then arrive in the couple’s room where they chat, mingle and have champagne and orderves …

We then head off by limousine for some portraits around Vienna’s Palaces and gardens ..

Time for the ceremony which takes place at the Rathaus.

All the guests are then whisked off by horse and carriage around Vienna’s landmarks and the old town before heading back to the hotel.

Bread with salt – russian tradition given by the mother’s

Who got the biggest piece?

Fun and games took place the entire evening and I must say Russian weddings are the most entertaining weddings I have experienced to date …

….. not quite sure what was happening here ……

{I must learn russian ….}

because still to this day I have no idea why the couple were given the cutest little bunny rabbit which was wrapped up in playboy wrapping paper!
edit: 23.08.2011 the bride has now told me that their surname means ‘fertility’ in russian, and a rabbit is a symbol of fertility :)

too sweet!

.. again ….. don’t ask me ……

…. erm ……

Never seen a throwing of the bouquet done this way before …….

And of course an indoor firework display …. what else?
